After a good long stay in England, I'm back!
Shannon Belletti and I had a 'girls' trip to the countryside and came back with scads of information about botany, conservation, and real estate trends. (Of course I had to stop in and visit with some Estate Agents while I was there)
...Apparently their residential market is feeling a similar strain to our own. First Time Buyers now are expected
to put down a minimum of 25% in a down payment, and
other properties are overpriced and slow to sell.
Shannon and I travelled into London for one day, but spent
the majority of our time in the countryside: Ascot, Isle of Wight,
the Cotswolds, etc. It was brilliant! The people there were so
nice and generous - I could easily live in the town of Broadway!
Most homes there were 400 - 500 years old, and still functional,
solid, and charming. Consider a trip outside of London next time
you venture across the Pond. :)
